O People, Steer clear through the waves of mischief by boats of deliverance, turn away from the path of dissension and put off the crowns of pride. Prosperous is one who rises with wings (i.e. when he has power) or else he remains peaceful and others enjoy ease. It (i.e. the aspiration for Caliphate) is like turbid water or like a morsel that would suffocate the person who swallows it. One who plucks fruits before ripening is like one who cultivated in another’s field. If I speak out they would call me greedy towards power but if I keep quiet they would say I was afraid of death. It is a pity that after all the ups and downs (I have been through). By Allah, the son of Abu Talib is more familiar with death than an infant with the breast of its mother. I have hidden knowledge, if I disclose it you will start trembling like ropes in deep wells

ای مردم، امواج طوفانی فتنه ها را با کشتی های نجات بشکافید و پیش بروید، از راه عداوت و نفرت از یکدیگر برگردید و طریق مهر و محبت پیش بگیرید. تاج کبر و غرور را از سر برگیرید و بر زمین نهید. آنکس به مقصود نایل گشت که پرو بالی داشت و به پرواز درامد یا فاقد قدرت بود و از هجوم به مخاطرات خودداری کرد و آسوده گشت، که این خلافت و ریاست، گندابه ای را مانَد و یا لقمه ای گلوگیر و مرگ آور باشد. کسیکه دست به چیدن میوه نارس ببرد چونان کشاورزی ست که در غیر زمین خود بکارد.
اگر از خلافت سخن گویم، شیفته آنم خوانند و اگر دم فرو بندم، هراس از مرگ را به من بندند. دریغا چه دور است این نسبت، پس از آن همه جبهه و جهاد به خدا سوگند، فرزند ابو طالب با مرگ مأنوس تر از کودک به سینه مادر است. نه، چنین نیست. سکوت من از دانشی است که اگر آن را آشکار سازم، پریشان و بیتاب شوید همان گونه که ریسمان در چاه عمیق به شدّت لرزد و تعادل از کف دهد.

ما امروز راه حق و باطل را تفکیک نمودیم و هر کسی راه خود را پی گرفت.
کسیکه اطمینان به آب دارد, سوز عطش طاقت از دستش برنخواهد گرفت.

I have come to know that every one of them entered upon Muslim women and other women under protection of Islam and took away their ornaments from legs, arms, necks and ears and no woman could resist it except by pronouncing the verse,Then they got back laden with wealth without any wound or loss of life. If any Muslim dies of grief after all this he is not to be blamed but rather there is justification for him before me

سخن امام بعد از شنیدن خبر حمله دشمن به شهر انبار بر اثر کوتاهی محافظان شهر:
به من خبر رسیده است که بعضی از لشکریان دشمن بر زنان مسلمان و دیگر زنان( غیرمسلمان) که در پناه دولت اسلامند، هجوم برده و خلخال و دستبند و گردن بند و گوشواره آنان را به یغما برده اند، و هیچ مردی یاور و مدافع آنها نبوده جز ناله و التماس آنان به دشمن. آنگاه سپاهیان خونخوار(غارتگران) با دست پر و کامیاب بازگشتند بی آنکه کشته و مجروحی بر جای گذارند. اگر پس از این حادثه دلخراش مردی مسلمان از شدت تاسف بمیرد مورد ملامت نخواهد بود بلکه مرگ برای او به جهت تاثر از این حادثه سزاوارتر است.
